Exhibition view of Motherland at Vue Gallery, Brussels.
Motherland is an intimate exploration of motherhood in its many forms—tender, chaotic, fragile, and luminous. Through photography and textiles, the exhibition captures both the beauty and challenges of raising children, finding quiet poetry in everyday moments from pregnancy to play.
The works are gentle yet honest, holding joy and vulnerability without explanation. Some pieces reflect Boeyden’s own experience with anxiety as a young mother, blending personal insight with universal rhythms of care.
Stitched and mended textiles accompany the photographs, highlighting the ongoing labor of motherhood. These works speak to repair, time, and the constant act of nurturing—echoed in phrases like “mend the worn, mend the days.”
Motherland invites viewers into a world where imperfection and resilience coexist, honoring the small, fleeting moments that shape both parent and child.

Exhibition view of Regarde, Maman! at Vue Gallery, Brussels
This group exhibition brings together the work of eight photographers who are also mothers, sharing intimate images of love, exhaustion, longing, and quiet resilience. From the raw realities of birth to the loneliness of caregiving and the deep desire to become a mother, these works reveal what is so often left unseen. Regarde, Maman! is not only the familiar call of a child asking to be seen. It is also our call — to pause, to shift our gaze, to truly look at the mother. To see her labor, her tenderness, her doubts, her strength. To acknowledge the woman behind the role.
Tender, messy, powerful, and real— Regarde, Maman! is a call to witness and a reminder: you are not alone.
